01About Clubchess and these Terms
Clubchess provides the chess platform at clubchess.net. These Terms and Conditions govern your account and use of the service. Contact contact@clubchess.net for account questions, notices, complaints, or requests relating to these Terms.
The effective date and version appear above. When you accept these Terms, the Fair-Game Policy and AML Policy form part of your agreement with Clubchess. The Privacy Policy separately explains how we handle information. Competition-specific terms supplement these Terms for that competition. Mandatory legal rights take priority; material entry conditions must be available before an entry is charged.
02Eligibility and availability
You must be at least 18, meet any higher minimum age that applies to you, and have the legal capacity to enter this agreement. You must also meet the published conditions of the game, competition, or payment feature you choose to use.
Clubchess does not impose country or region blocks on registration or play. You remain responsible for ensuring that your participation is lawful. Access to the website is not a representation that every activity is legally permitted for every person. Do not misrepresent your age or use an account to evade an individual restriction.
03No KYC required
Clubchess does not require KYC documents. You do not need government-issued identification, a selfie, or proof of address to create an account, play, deposit Bitcoin, or request a withdrawal.
Account security and transaction reviews do not require identity documents. Before joining a new game or competition, verify your email, complete a play security check, and acknowledge the fair-play rules. These checks help limit automated account use; they do not prove a player’s identity or guarantee independent play. Withdrawal requests require your password and, if enabled, a two-factor authentication code. Requests, including your first withdrawal, are processed automatically after authentication and payment checks pass. We may hold any withdrawal for manual review if we suspect foul play, including cheating, fraud, account abuse, or other prohibited activity. We may ask for relevant transaction references or an explanation of activity when investigating a concern.
04Your account and security
Provide accurate account information and keep your credentials private. Use available security settings, including two-factor authentication, and promptly report suspected compromise to contact@clubchess.net. Never send a password, recovery phrase, private key, or authentication code to support.
Play through your own account. Sharing accounts, impersonation, account sales, and additional accounts used to evade restrictions or manipulate results are prohibited. A disputed account action requires investigation; these Terms do not make you automatically liable for every transaction attributed to your account.
05Games, ratings, and points
Follow the published game rules and Fair-Game Policy. Competition moves must be your own. Server-recorded moves, clocks, and results support game administration; report apparent errors rather than exploiting them. A connection failure may leave your clock running under the applicable event rules.
Ratings estimate playing strength. Friendly matches and Duels are rated separately; neither rating affects the other. Competition points determine standings under published scoring rules; they are not Bitcoin, cannot be purchased or withdrawn, and have no guaranteed conversion rate. A separate prize is payable only under the relevant reward terms after results and eligibility are finalized.
06Competition entry and prizes
Before any paid entry, the event must identify its entry amount, currency and network, platform fee, schedule, format, capacity, minimum participation, prize funding, allocation, tie rules, and review period. It must also state check-in requirements, cancellation and withdrawal terms, refund deadlines, and any permitted deductions.
Only confirm an entry when those conditions are available and clear. Registration reserves the stated amount; it does not guarantee a win. Provisional standings are not a finalized prize. Material entry or prize terms must not be changed retrospectively to a player’s disadvantage without an appropriate remedy and any required agreement.
07Cancellations and refunds
Refunds depend on the competition terms presented before entry, the reason for cancellation or withdrawal, and applicable rights. Different events may have different refund deadlines or deductions. Any deduction must have a disclosed basis; these Terms do not impose a blanket no-refunds rule.
An internal refund releases or credits the relevant platform balance. It is distinct from sending Bitcoin to an external wallet. If an outage or cancelled event affects an entry, contact us for the outcome and applicable refund timetable.
08Bitcoin and platform balances
Bitcoin is the supported cryptocurrency, and amounts on the site are shown in mBTC. One mBTC is 0.001 BTC (100,000 satoshis). Check the network displayed for each transaction.
The platform wallet records balances administered through Clubchess and its payment infrastructure. It is not a self-custody wallet: you do not control its signing keys. Available, reserved, and pending amounts have different meanings. Balances are not an investment product, and Clubchess does not promise an investment return or deposit insurance.
09Deposits and network risks
Use only the destination and network supplied through the supported deposit flow. Deposits are credited after 1 confirmation. Wrong-network transfers, incorrect addresses, network delays, and blockchain reorganizations may prevent or delay credit; recovery cannot be guaranteed.
Bitcoin transactions generally cannot be reversed by Clubchess after broadcast and confirmation. Bitcoin’s exchange value and network fees can change substantially. A technical correction must be explained and recorded; network-risk language does not excuse an operator error or remove rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
10Withdrawal requests
Withdrawals, including first requests, are processed automatically after authentication and payment checks pass. Account security, sufficient available balance, a supported Bitcoin address, and the displayed minimum and fee requirements still apply. We may hold any withdrawal for manual review if we suspect foul play, including cheating, fraud, account abuse, or other prohibited activity. The amount and a network-fee allowance remain reserved while the payment is processed or its outcome is checked.
Check the destination carefully. Network fees apply. Review the displayed maximum network-fee allowance and maximum total to be reserved before confirming a withdrawal. If a higher allowance is needed, you must review and confirm a new quote. A definitively failed or permitted cancelled request releases its hold; a confirmed payout records the actual fee and returns any unused allowance. Requests remain subject to account-security checks and the AML Policy. These checks do not require identity documents. Automatic processing does not guarantee an immediate or completed payment. Available payout liquidity, technical issues, or an unresolved transaction outcome can delay a transfer; Bitcoin confirmation time depends on the network. If a request is held for manual review, the duration depends on the concern being investigated.
11No coin mixing or misuse of funds
You must not use Clubchess deposits, withdrawals, balances, games, or prizes for coin mixing, tumbling, money laundering, or concealing the source, ownership, or destination of funds. Using the service as a pass-through wallet, arranging game results to transfer value, or coordinating accounts to disguise transfers is prohibited.
If we reasonably suspect or confirm this conduct, we may suspend your account and freeze access to affected funds, including restricting new withdrawal requests, while the matter is reviewed or a binding legal restriction applies. A freeze is a restriction on access, not automatic forfeiture of your balance. The AML Policy explains the review process, possible outcomes, and how to request reconsideration.
Account restrictions cannot reverse Bitcoin transactions already broadcast and may not stop withdrawals already approved for processing. No-KYC access does not authorise mixing, unlawful transfers, or evasion of these Terms.
12Reviews, restrictions, and service changes
Reasonable concerns about cheating, fraud, account compromise, prohibited financial use, or transaction errors may justify proportionate restrictions. We will explain the concern and review status where disclosure is permitted. Automated signals alone are not proof of wrongdoing or a basis for confiscating balances. Game-related reviews follow the Fair-Game Policy; financial misuse is addressed under the AML Policy.
Clubchess may maintain or change the service with appropriate notice. Significant outages and account closure require an orderly process for affected games, outstanding claims, and undisputed balances. Closing an account does not itself transfer its balance to Clubchess. Personal information is addressed separately in the Privacy Policy.
13Platform materials and permitted use
Clubchess and its licensors retain their rights in the service’s original software, branding, artwork and other protected materials. You may use the service for its intended chess and account functions in accordance with these Terms. This does not transfer ownership of platform materials or limit rights that applicable law grants independently, including permitted uses of game facts or public information.
You retain any rights you have in material you submit. You permit Clubchess to use that material only as reasonably necessary to operate the service, display the relevant game or profile, maintain records and address disputes, subject to the Privacy Policy. Do not submit material you are not entitled to share, infringe another person’s rights, or harvest private account information.
14Questions, disputes, and your rights
Email contact@clubchess.net with your username, relevant game or transaction reference, the issue, and the resolution you request. Complaints and appeals are handled manually. We will assess the information provided and communicate the outcome and reasons where disclosure is permitted.
Nothing in these Terms removes mandatory consumer rights or excludes responsibility for fraud, negligence, or other conduct where liability cannot lawfully be excluded. These Terms do not require mandatory arbitration or prevent you from seeking a remedy through a competent court or authority.
You are responsible for understanding any personal tax or reporting obligations arising from participation. Clubchess remains responsible for any withholding or reporting duties imposed on it. These Terms do not promise a tax rate or exemption.
Material amendments will be published with an updated version and effective date, with additional notice or acceptance where required. A later version does not retrospectively change accepted competition terms or record your acceptance without action by you. Required cancellation, withdrawal, and other statutory rights remain available.
